Local Rules:

  • The Alternative to Stroke and Distance for a ball lost or out of bounds is in effect. For two penalty strokes, you may take relief by dropping the ball in the relief area (see rule 14.3). This option is not available if a provisional ball has already been hit.
  • If there is a doubt to a rules procedure, play a second ball and seek a ruling upon completion of the round.  Any ruling made by the rules committee is considered final.
  • Devices that measure distance only are allowed.
  • If a ball lies in a general area of the course (except in a bunker, penalty area or putting green of hole being played) and an immovable obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief by lifting and dropping at the nearest point to where the ball lay that is (a) not nearer the hole, (b) avoids intervention and (c) not in a hazard or putting green.
  • There are no bunkers at The Ocean Course. All sandy areas are part of the General Area.
  • Drop area #3 and #11 at Osprey Point and #17 at The Ocean Course on the Carolina (red) tee

Pace of Play: In the case your group falls more than a hole behind, the entire group will be given a warning.  If the group does not keep up to the group ahead, there will be another warning. On the third time the group is behind, each player will be timed. A one stroke penalty will be assessed on the player who takes longer than 40 seconds to play the shot. The time starts when the previous player finishes his shot or when the group reaches the tee box.

Scoring: Live scoring is enabled. Please check the live scores to verify accuracy and make any edits IMMEDIATELY following play.

Please maintain a good pace of play for the enjoyment of all players.

Good luck and have fun!
